Our Story
A Ripple Effect of Change
At Eco-Refillary, we believe small, intentional choices ripple outward.
They shift systems. Heal homes. Awaken us to what matters.
You’ll see that in every product we make—and in our willow tree mural, where each customer signs a leaf. Every name is a reminder: when you choose ritual over routine, you're part of something bigger.
From Candles to a Calling
In 2010, I began hand-pouring soy candles in my basement, selling them at local markets. As I deepened my connection with natural ingredients, my curiosity became craft—formulating skincare and soap rooted in intention.
But in 2013, a thyroid condition forced me to pause.
During recovery, I studied holistic nutrition and returned with clarity: no more synthetic fragrances. From then on, I used only essential oils and plant-based ingredients. My work became an extension of healing.
The Spark That Shifted Everything
After a hysterectomy in 2019, I had a realization: plastic was everywhere, and very little was truly being recycled. I wanted to create a better way.
So I launched Eco-Refillary—offering refillable, natural, low-waste essentials.
Two weeks after joining the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market, we were invited inside.
By August 2020, in the middle of a pandemic, we opened our first retail space—a 500 sq. ft. shop I called the dollhouse.
That’s where we launched Canada’s first refillable candle—a way to enjoy light without landfill.
Growth, Grit, and the Bigger Picture
On my 40th birthday, I stepped onto the stage for my first fitness competition. I placed Top 3 in every category. It reminded me that women can rise at any age—again and again.
In 2022, we were named Business of the Year.
In 2023, we expanded to a 2,000 sq. ft. space and launched our own skincare kitchen.
In 2025, we officially retired our candle line, InnaScents, and merged everything under Eco-Refillary.
